Looking southeast from the North Rim, north of the Lodge. This is another of the places you will encounter, as we did, tame wildlife in the form of deer. A small herd strolled across the road, and stopped to allow one of the fauns, who looked yearling-like, to raise his mama a foot off the ground as he butted up under her to nurse.
