Thanks to the good offices of Tam McPartland, we have a note:
The piccolo Maserati 250F that did the demonstration laps before the 1960 Times Grand Prix was driven by Carroll Shelby. I have some other photos of the combination, which clearly identify Shelby. I don't think Jim Hall ever sat behind the wheel. Not sure why Bobbie Drake did not do it, as he drove it in the US Grand Prix later on in November. It was chassis 2533, owned by Joe Lubin of Beverly Hills. It had been ungraded at the factory with Birdcage-type Girling disc brakes up front, instead of the standard drum brakes.Willem Oosthoek

Willem Oosthoek: The photo showing 6 cars from behind [Stevensen, Hansgen, Settember, Morgensen, Kessenger, Patrick] was taken during the consolation race before the 1960 Times GP. The second car shows Chuck Daigh in Briggs Cunningham's Lister/Jaguar, not Hansgen [who had made the field already in Cunningham's Tipo 60]. Ironically, Daigh spun out in the consolation and [after winning the 1958 race and sitting on the front row of the 1959 race] did not make the field in 1960.

Willem Oosthoek: The other one (??) is still a mystery to me, due to the combination of cars. It is the one at Riverside, with race number 241. That is the former Parravano 450S Maserati, chassis 4502, then owned by Rey Martinez. At the wheel is Chuck Kessinger of Burbank. The shot must have been taken during practice, as normally the 450S would not race against a 300SL and a XK-120.

Present at a tribute evening dedicated to Phil Hill were:
Phil Hill himself, Dan Gurney, Jim Hall, Chuck Daigh, and Carroll Shelby, among others.
Phil received a nice testimonial letter from Sir Stirling Moss.
Wonderful.

I'm always eager to include any corrections or comments.
