What you see above is an assortment of the notorious "pop-off" valves required by CART as equalizers. They were supposed to open at some common, predetermined pressure value. Designed and owned by CART, they were the cause of a lot of dissension and rancor, because they (theoretically) eliminated cubic money as a guarantor of winning, and because some of them were more equal than others. You can see them sticking out of the engine cover on any of the cars on Race Cars 01 et seq.
