at Play on the Palm Springs Airport
in the
Mid-50s (3b)

Repeat from Page 3:

Yes, I did find a course map (North American Motorsports Pages). You can see the difference between what I remember (substantiated by the bottom photo on Page Two) and what I found. The latter (black line) is what may have been there on the one occasion I worked this track in the 60s.

07-25-02: I now have other course layouts to show you, one from a program for an April, 1958 event. You'll have to stand on your head or turn this one over in your mind: for some reason they oriented it 180° out from
the one above. I see someone has marked a shortcut on the program, making the course in that area correspond to my memory of it.

So, it seems the NAMS diagram is the only one that appeared oriented North-to-Left. Two others I've seen were North-to-Right. The fancy-schmancy 1958 one was North-to-Top.
Majority (and image aspect) rules: N2R it is.

OK, I flipped it for you and put it at the bottom of the column at left.

Top diagram is from a 1955 program.

Next two seem to be essentially identical relative to where-it-goes, and are from 1957 and 1958 programs.

Remember the bottom diagram: black line is from the North American Motorsport Pages, unspecified date, probably early 60s; blue line is what I remember from my 1956 visit.

The program from that visit shows another set of options,
and evidence that the hand-made alternate markings
were actually printed on the page
