It's Pancho Carter, I think. Nice colors, those. I understand Alex was a popular fellow among the racers and owners.

Started 19th; finished 7th; 89 laps; flagged

Perhaps someone can help with this one. I'm stumped. Can't quite read the First Last-name on his helmet, and don't see any driver marks on the car.

Dick Simon; start 20; finish 25; 11 laps; wrecked.

Howdy Holmes. If I'm not mistaken, "Domino" means "I dominate." I don't remember Howdy or any Domino car dominating. Could be wrong.

Start 12; finish 13; 68 laps; broken header.

Fabi's "Thumbnail    Big    Biggest" slide in another location is somehow both more and less dramatic than this shot, which is rather standard.

Start 1; finish 2; 95 laps in 2:45:56, 28 sec back.

Tom Klausler in the 48 car is apparently in the process of passing Pancho Carter's Alex Foods special.

Klausler: start 27; finish 6; 90 laps; flagged.

Josele Garza raises his hand. The "Mark C. Bloome" will generate a "Boom-de-boom" conditioned response in folks of a certain age who were subjected to his L.A.-area tire commercials.

Start 10; finish 20; 33 laps; suspension.

For the record:

Fabi qualified in 1:30.887, 130.172 mph
to Unser, Jr.'s 1:31.707, 129.543 mph

John Paul, Jr. started 8th, finished 3rd, 95 laps.
Al Unser, Jr. start 2 finish 4, 94 laps;
Tom Sneva start 14, finish 5, 93 laps;
Desire Wilson start 24, finish 14, 66 laps, transmission;
Mario Andretti led 18 laps, including his last (57).
